Safety
As Britclips cover a range of tasks each would require a site and job specific risk assessment carried out prior to any installation. However, as many Britclips are designed to suit the purpose of supporting and managing elevated services they are likely to be installed at height from mobile elevated work platforms, or from gantry access it is pertinent to consider the implications of working at height. A specific design criterion of each Britclip is that it should be easy to install and therefore not require specialist tools or plant; most can be installed with no more than a light tap with a simple hammer. Personal safety equipment should include safety gloves, and a safety helmet if undertaking work at height. As in all areas of construction, always refer to the risk assessment and formal installation method statement prior to beginning Britclip installation.
Preparation
To ensure that each and every installation is effective it is important to undertake preparation.
